About St John Zambia
St John Zambia is part of the global Order of St John, a major international humanitarian charity accredited to the Commonwealth and the United Nations, providing first aid, health care, and community support services in over 40 countries worldwide.
Established in Zambia in the 1970s, St John Zambia is registered as a charitable non-governmental organization under the Laws of Zambia (NGO Registration No. RNGO 101/0624/24). Also known as St John Ambulance Zambia, the organization has served communities for decades through emergency medical response, first aid training, ambulance services, and primary health care programmes.
St John Zambia exists to serve humanity by improving health, safety, and quality of life through first aid, emergency preparedness, health care, and community support services. The organization works closely with communities, institutions, workplaces, schools, sporting bodies, and government stakeholders to strengthen emergency response systems and promote safer communities across Zambia.

St John strives to excel as a health service organisation providing service in areas of first aid and primary health care.
Vision
To be an organisation made up of dedicated volunteers who have the capacity to provide first aid, ambulance services and primary health care and education to promote the health to all Zambians and alleviate human suffering.
Structure and Governance
St John Zambia is registered under the Companies Act, Cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia. The organisation is governed by a volunteer-led National Council, with day-to-day operations managed by the Chief Executive Officer, who leads staff and volunteers delivering St John’s community work.
Human Resources and Operational Capacity
St John Zambia is supported by a dedicated team of staff, trained First Aid Instructors, community health volunteers, cadets, ambulance personnel, emergency responders, and governance members. The organisation operates ambulances and utility vehicles to support emergency response, training, and community outreach programmes.
